Passenger Bus Fire in Baker County, Minor Injuries

BAKER COUNTY, FL — A VR Coach carrying 52 passengers became disabled during a fire this morning while traveling westbound on Interstate-10 near mile marker 332. The incident occurred as the coach was en route to Tallahassee.

Following the breakdown, all passengers were safely evacuated from the vehicle. Although there were no serious injuries reported, a couple of passengers received on-site treatment for minor smoke inhalation. In response to the incident, the Baker County School District provided temporary transportation for the stranded passengers, relocating them to a safe area as they await further assistance from buses arriving from St. John’s County.

Despite the disruption, traffic flow on Interstate-10 has not been affected, with all lanes remaining open while cleanup operations continue.
