Suspect Arrested for Series of Commercial Burglaries in Ocean Township

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Early Monday morning, Ocean Township Police responded to a report of broken glass at the Blue Swan Diner around 2:30 AM. Upon arrival, officers discovered a broken window at the diner and initiated a thorough search of the vicinity. Leamon D. Washington was found hiding in the crawl space of the diner and was arrested without incident.

Further investigation revealed Washington’s involvement in multiple commercial burglaries in Ocean Township and neighboring areas over recent weeks. He has been charged with several counts of burglary, possession of burglar tools, theft, and criminal mischief. Following his arrest, Washington was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution to await his initial court appearance.
