Baltimore Cop Killed in Crash on Jones Falls Expressway

BALTIMORE, MD – Baltimore Police Department’s SWAT team member, Anthony Ward, lost his life in a car accident, according to the department’s late announcement on Saturday.

Maryland State Police revealed that Ward, 36, from Rosedale, collided with a Ford tow truck on the inner loop of I-695 shortly before the Jones Falls Expressway around 4:30 p.m. while driving a 2024 GMC Savana, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.

Details surrounding the crash are still being investigated. Police Commissioner Richard Worley expressed condolences, stating the tragic loss affected Ward’s family, colleagues, and the entire police department.

Funeral arrangements are pending release at a future date.
