Man charged with arson in South Jersey church fire

WEST DEPTFORD, NJ – A 44-year-old man faces arson charges in connection with a fire that occurred at Colonial Manor United Methodist Church on Elberne Avenue in West Deptford on Friday. Brian Cannon has been charged with two counts of arson and aggravated assault, according to local authorities.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at approximately 6:40 a.m. on Friday, with one firefighter sustaining injuries while battling the flames.

The injured firefighter has since been released from the hospital.
