Pennsylvania State Police were called to a Wawa in Chesnuthill Township following a report of “terroristic threats” from an anonymous caller, according to a police statement.
The incident occurred late on a Friday evening at the Wawa situated at 1781 Route 209, with authorities stating that the calls were received around 10:30 p.m. At that time, the store was swiftly shut down, and employees were asked to evacuate as police officers proceeded to conduct a thorough search of the premises to ensure safety.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that following the sweep, no signs of any suspicious activities or items were discovered on the property.
Once it was certain that there was no imminent danger, the store was reinstated, and operations resumed. Nonetheless, the incident is currently being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police’s Fern Ridge station to ascertain the source and validity of the threatening phone call.
