Former New Jersey Governor Says Trump Looks Terrible

Republican U.S. presidential candidates participate in their fourth debate of the 2024 U.S. presidential campaign in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who has spent most of his life since 2016 as the main Republican antagonist against former President Donald J. Trump, criticized the former president’s appearance today.

“If you look at Trump physically right now, he looks terrible,” Christie said during an interview at the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics.

Christie, who has suffered from obesity issues, was sharply criticized on X, formerly Twitter after the comment was published on the platform.

In the past, Christie has stopped short of saying he would vote for Joe Biden, but confirmed he would not vote for Trump.

“President Biden, in my view, is past the sell-by date. Seriously…If the American people are stupid enough to nominate these two guys don’t mean I have to be stupid, too,” he said.
