Man Found Dead in Brooklyn Boat Fire

FDNY Ambulance on scene to provide medical assistance to victims.

BROOKLYN, NY—At 4:54 AM on Saturday, police rushed to a reported fire at a parking lot opposite 253 Conover Street. They found a boat mounted on a trailer ablaze.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, but a subsequent search revealed an adult male deceased on board.

The man was declared dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the origins of the fire, while the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The identity of the victim has been withheld as officials await the chance to notify his family.
