Barricaded Man Critically Injured in Early Morning Philadelphia Shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Police Department is actively investigating an early morning shooting that critically injured a man. On Saturday, around 6:40 AM, an unidentified Black male in his 30s was dropped off at the Episcopal Campus of Temple University Hospital with a gunshot wound to his left abdomen. He remains in critical condition.

The police have yet to identify a crime scene or recover a weapon related to the incident. Later that day, around 11:21 AM, a suspect believed to be connected to the shooting barricaded himself inside a property on the 2100 block of East Cambria Street. SWAT was deployed, and by 12:08 PM, the suspect was apprehended following a successful breach.

The investigation is being handled by the Shooting Investigation Group. Authorities are appealing for any information related to the incident and ask witnesses to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
