Arrest Made in Georgetown Home Burglary

Georgetown, DE -Delaware State Police arrested 64-year-old David Arvey Sr. of Laurel, Delaware, for burglarizing a home in Georgetown. Troopers responded to a burglary report on Lewes Georgetown Highway after a neighbor spotted an unknown male on the property and alerted the homeowner. The culprit stole items from the house and fled in a white Ford pickup truck.

David Arvey Sr. was taken into custody by the Millsboro Police Department on Tuesday at around 3:50 p.m. following a brief foot chase. After being apprehended, he was charged with burglary in the third degree and theft under $1500. Arvey Sr. was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and later released on a $5,000 unsecured bond, but held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,000 secured bond for existing capiases.
