Secaucus Police Arrest Union City Man on Stolen Moped

Secaucus, NJ – Secaucus Police arrested a Union City man on Friday morning after he was spotted riding a stolen moped without a helmet. Officer Robert Schaffer observed Andy Perez speeding and ignoring traffic devices while riding a 2023 Fly moped on Plaza Drive. Perez was arrested after providing false information about his identity during a motor vehicle stop.

Perez was found in possession of shoplifted merchandise from a local Marshalls along with anti-shoplifting sensors. Chief Dennis Miller commended the officer for proactive policing that led to the arrest.

Perez faces charges of receiving a stolen vehicle, hindering prosecution, and shoplifting, among other violations.
