Philadelphia Gun Violence Unit Arrests Staw Purchaser in Illegal Trafficking Operation

Philadelphia, PA – On Monday, the Office of Attorney General’s Philadelphia Gun Violence Task Force announced the arrest of Richard Taylor, 37, for straw purchases and soliciting the murder of an individual. Taylor was arraigned on various charges, with bail set at $5 million.

An investigation revealed that Taylor bought 31 firearms, with at least 12 recovered by the Philadelphia police, while 14 remain unaccounted for. In response, Attorney General Henry emphasized the importance of tracking illegally-obtained firearms.

Taylor, of Old York Road, was apprehended after a straw purchase at Frank’s Gun Shop last month. The Office of Attorney General continues to collaborate with law enforcement at all levels to address gun-related violence and illegal firearm transfers.
