Drunk Driver Crashes Into Retaining Wall Outside Funeral Parlor

BAYVILLE, NJ—A significant motor vehicle accident led to a DWI arrest on March 24. Patrolman Evan Sicknick, along with Sgt. Sean Varady, Patrolman Collin Robertazzi, and Patrolman Thomas Micklos of the local police department, responded to a crash report on Bay Blvd. Ana Castillo, 25, of Bayville, was identified as the driver who failed to stop at a sign and collided with a retaining wall in front of Ryan’s Funeral Home.

The accident resulted in considerable damage to both the vehicle and the retaining wall. Castillo sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Berkeley EMTs. Further investigation revealed that Castillo was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where she was processed and charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Careless Driving, Reckless Driving, and Refusal to Submit to Testing.

Following the arrest, Castillo’s vehicle was impounded under John’s Law. She was later released and is scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
