Emergency Landing: Pilot Safely Brings Down Plane on Long Island Beach

MOUNT SINAI, NY – Emergency crews responded to a unique situation on Wednesday evening as a single-engine Cessna plane made an emergency landing on Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, Suffolk County Police received reports of a small aircraft landing on the beach following a power failure mid-flight.

The 60-year-old male pilot skillfully maneuvered the plane onto the sand after experiencing the power failure, ensuring the safety of himself and his 59-year-old female passenger.

Fortunately, neither the pilot nor the passenger sustained any injuries during the emergency landing.
