Sheriff’s Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing

Plant City, FL – This afternoon, a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office helicopter was involved in an emergency landing during flight. At 4:04 p.m., two pilots reported an emergency landing in a field off County Road 39 in Plant City. Fortunately, there were no injuries to the personnel on board, despite the helicopter sustaining damage.

According to Sheriff Chad Chronister, “The safety of our deputies and pilots is our top priority.” He confirmed that the helicopter will be grounded while an investigation to determine the cause of the incident takes place. HCSO has committed to maintaining the highest safety standards for its fleet.
