Pennsylvania Woman Avoids Jail After Killing Neighbor’s Chihuahua Puppy

LANCASTER, PA—Loyna Dejesus-Osorio, 53, of Lancaster, has been sentenced to seven years of probation, with the initial nine months under house arrest, for assaulting her neighbor and killing their five-month-old Chihuahua. The incident occurred on September 25, 2022, in the 100 block of Old Dorwart Street.

Dejesus-Osorio entered a no contest plea on February 12, 2024, and was sentenced by Lancaster County Judge Jeffrey Wright on Wednesday. As part of her sentence, Dejesus-Osorio is required to attend anger management classes, write a letter of apology to the victim, and complete 100 hours of community service at organizations such as the Humane League,

Organization for the Responsible Care of Animals (ORCA), or a similar entity dedicated to animal welfare.
