Maryland Fugitive Wanted for Violent Attack Arrested in Pennsylvania

CUMBERLAND, MD — On Friday, May 3, Steven Sharp, a 43-year-old resident of Berlin, PA, was apprehended by the Cumberland City Police on charges of being a fugitive from justice. The arrest followed the discovery of an extraditable warrant out of Somerset County, PA, issued for incidents that occurred on April 30.

Sharp faces charges including strangulation, aggravated assault, and harassment. Following his arrest, he was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance and was subsequently remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. Currently, Sharp is being held without bond, awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.
