New Jersey Woman Locked In Crawlspace, Suspect in Custody

Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlantic City Police Department responded to a situation involving a woman being held against her will, leading to the arrest of the suspect, Gary Lockel. Mr. Lockel, 54, was charged with multiple offenses following an investigation into the incident.

Patrol officers intervened on May 3, 2024, at 4:37 PM, rescuing the victim from a crawl space where she was reportedly being held by Lockel. Despite initial refusals to cooperate, the suspect was apprehended without further issue as the victim, having endured minor injuries, received medical attention at the scene.

Mr. Lockel was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending legal proceedings.
