Multi-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Route 50 Under Investigation

DORCHESTER COUNTY, MD – A five-vehicle collision occurred early this morning on westbound U.S. Route 50 at Malkus Bridge, prompting a response from Maryland State Police troopers from the Easton Barrack. The crash involved a Ford pickup that collided with a disabled tractor-trailer in the roadway. The impact caused the Ford to veer into the travel lanes, where it was hit by other vehicles.

The driver of the Ford was severely injured and airlifted to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment. Another individual was transported by ambulance to the University of Maryland Medical Center at Easton for their injuries. Fortunately, no further injuries were reported at the crash site.

The accident closed U.S. Route 50 for over three hours as authorities investigated. The specific cause of the collision is still being determined.
