Motorcyclist Killed in Crash in Brookville

BROOKVILLE, NY—The Homicide Squad has released new details regarding a fatal collision that occurred on Thursday afternoon in Brookville. The accident involved a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle and a 2000 Hino Dump Truck at the intersection of Cedar Swamp Road and Hemlock Drive at 5:08 PM.

The motorcyclist, now identified as 28-year-old Joffre Sierra-Chalen of Glen Cove, was traveling northbound on Cedar Swamp Road when he collided with the dump truck, which was making a westbound turn onto the same road.

Sierra-Chalen was pronounced dead at the scene by a Jericho Fire Department paramedic. A safety inspection was conducted on the dump truck, and no other injuries were reported.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
