Police Investigate Friday Night Shooting in Jersey City

Jersey City, NJ – The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are looking into a fatal shooting that took place on Friday evening. Police responded to reports of shots fired on Pearsall Avenue and Garfield Avenue around 10 p.m. and found Resheed Wallace, 24, with a gunshot wound. Wallace was later pronounced dead at Jersey City Medical Center.

Authorities are actively investigating the incident, which has not resulted in any arrests thus far. Those with any information are urged to contact the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office or submit an anonymous tip online.

The investigation is ongoing, with the cause and manner of death awaiting confirmation from the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
