Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest in Wildwood

Wildwood Crest, NJ – K9 Officer Tyler Lavender of the Wildwood Crest Police Department conducted a motor vehicle stop on Thursday afternoon.

Officer Lavender discovered suspected crack cocaine, distribution paraphernalia, and cash believed to be proceeds from illegal narcotic sales in the vehicle. The driver, Dwayne Wakefield, was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including possession with intent to distribute, money laundering, and tampering with evidence.

Wakefield was remanded to Cape May County Correctional Facility in accordance with the Attorney General’s guidelines.
