Fugitive Sought For Armed Robbery at Newark Liquor Store

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Director, Fritz G. Fragé, is calling on the public to assist in locating Jeffrey T. Carr, 54, of Newark. Carr is wanted for an armed robbery that took place at the New Silver Key Liquor Store on Broadway last Monday.

On the evening of March 25, at around 9:26 PM, Newark Police were dispatched to the liquor store located in the 200 block of Broadway, following a robbery report.

The suspect, later identified as Carr, allegedly threatened the cashier with a weapon, demanding the cash from the register be placed into a black plastic bag. He fled the scene with approximately $400, heading north towards Broadway Townhouses.

Carr is described as a Black male, about 6 feet tall, last seen wearing a black face mask, dark gray hooded sweatshirt under a black jacket, black pants, and white and gray shoes. A warrant for his arrest has been issued.
