Police Investigating After Man Found Beaten to Death in Riverdale Park

RIVERDALE PARK, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department has taken charge of the investigation into the homicide of 53-year-old Angel Martinez in Riverdale Park. Investigators currently believe that the crime was not random.

On Monday, at around 5:20 PM, officers from the Riverdale Park Police Department were called to the 5700 block of Riverdale Road upon reports of an unresponsive man. Martinez was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

The autopsy, performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, identified blunt force trauma as the cause of death, which has been classified as a homicide.

On May 15 2024 at approximately 520 pm officers with the Riverdale Park Police Department responded to the 5700 block of Riverdale Road for the report of an unresponsive man 

The Prince George’s County Police Department is tasked with investigating all homicides in Riverdale Park. They urge anyone with information related to this case to contact the Homicide Unit at 301-516-2512.
