Man Arrested for Unlawful Contact with a Minor in South Park

South Park Township, PA – The Allegheny County Police Department has arrested a North Huntingdon Township man following an investigation into unlawful contact with a minor.

On March 11, 2024, the police received a ChildLine report detailing an incident involving a seven-year-old girl.

The male suspect, identified as 21-year-old Michael McFarland, allegedly instructed the child to take an inappropriate photo of herself during a Bible study session at a residence in South Park Township.

Detectives, who discovered 11 photographs of seven juvenile females on McFarland’s phone, have been unable to identify the additional minors in the recovered images.

McFarland faces several charges, including unlawful contact with a minor and criminal solicitation. Members of the public with any information related to the case are encouraged to contact the Allegheny County Police Tip Line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can choose to remain anonymous.
