EVESHAM TWP, NJ — Officer Dennisha Sanders has been named Officer of the Month for April by the Evesham Township Police.
The department said she expertly handled a critical situation involving a man attempting arson within a local residence. Sanders responded to the scene where the individual was using a blowtorch on a sofa.
Her approach successfully de-escalated the crisis. She communicated with the man effectively, avoiding the need for physical force, took him into custody, and secured the blowtorch, thus preventing further damage. The fire was promptly extinguished, minimizing property damage. The individual was charged with Arson and received medical treatment at a local hospital.
The Evesham Township Police Department praises Officer Sanders for her calm demeanor and her ability to preserve life and property under pressure.
