Injured Man Found Near Gunfire Scene Was Not Shot, Police Report

FREDERICK, MD – Early Tuesday morning, Frederick Police responded to reports of a shooting on the 200 block of N Market St. Upon arrival, they found an individual with head injuries initially thought to be gunshot wounds.

After a preliminary assessment, it was determined that the injuries were not consistent with those caused by a firearm. The victim was promptly transported to Frederick Health Hospital for further medical care.

The Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit is conducting an ongoing investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the injuries.

Initial findings have confirmed the man had not sustained injuries from a gun.
