Two Charged After Monthslong East Boston Drug Operation

EAST BOSTON, MA—Boston Police and Massachusetts State Police have arrested two East Boston residents on drug trafficking charges following a lengthy investigation. Santiago Alzate, 30, and Martin Alzate, 57, were apprehended on Thursday morning after officers executed search warrants at 77 Brooks Street.

The arrests mark the culmination of a six-month investigation by the Drug Control Units from District A-7 (East Boston), B-2 (Roxbury), and the Massachusetts State Police Suffolk County Drug Squad. During the operation, authorities seized 45 grams of cocaine, multiple plastic bags, and approximately $1,751.

Both individuals face charges including trafficking of class B, possession with intent to distribute class B, and distribution of class B substances. They are expected to be arraigned at the East Boston District Court.
