Death Investigation Underway for 12-Year-Old in Fort Lee

FORT LEE, NJ – A death investigation is currently active in Fort Lee after a 12-year-old child was found unresponsive earlier today. Authorities responded to a 911 call at a private residence on Maple Street at approximately 3:34 PM.

First responders transported the child to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The investigation is led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, under Chief Matthew Finck, and the Fort Lee Police Department, under Chief Matthew Hintze.

As the investigation is in its initial stages, no further information has been released at this time.
