Dover Police Investigate Deadly Shooting

DOVER, DE – A fatal shooting in Dover has prompted an intensive investigation by local police. The incident occurred at the intersection of New Castle Avenue and East Water Street on Saturday at approximately 4:22 PM.

Responding officers found a 29-year-old man from Dover with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The victim was quickly transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus, where he was pronounced dead due to his injuries. The identity of the deceased is currently withheld pending notification of his family.

The Dover Police Department, under the guidance of Master Corporal Ryan Schmid, is actively seeking information to establish a suspect description and the motive behind the shooting.
