No Shots Fired on Seaside Height Boardwalk, Police Confirm

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ – It was a wild start to the Memorial Day weekend after rumors and reports of shots fired on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk led to a stampede of teens running up and down the boardwalk. It is not known at this time how the incident was triggered, but the Seaside Heights Police Department confirmed today that there were no shots fired.

Posts on social media described a chaotic scene as officers rushed to the boardwalk, some armed with AR-style rifles, ordering the crowds off the boardwalk.

Videos showed teens running off the boardwalk.

Later, a curfew was implemented, barring anyone under 18 from being on the boardwalk or on a public street after 10 pm.

Prior to the false alarm, visitors to the boardwalk said large crowds of unruly teens littered the stretch in Seaside Heights.
