Police Confirm Walk-In Gunshot Victim in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD—A 40-year-old man sought medical attention at a local hospital after sustaining a gunshot wound early Sunday morning. Baltimore Police Department’s Southeast District patrol officers were called to the hospital following the report of the walk-in shooting victim at approximately 1:31 AM on May 27, 2024.

Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the man had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed that the shooting took place in the 1200 block of Ponca Street.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are currently under investigation, and authorities are gathering more information to determine what occurred. The Baltimore Police Department is urging anyone with knowledge about the incident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
