Utica Police Arrest Parolee After Finding Gun During Routine Home Inspection

UTICA, NY — On Wednesday, New York State Parole Officers conducted a residence search at 1118 Lenox Avenue as part of the release conditions for an individual living there.

During the search, a loaded 9mm handgun was found. Jeremiah Reed, 24, was detained at the scene and later taken to the Utica Police Department.

An investigator from the Utica Police Department’s GIVE Unit charged Reed with multiple offenses: Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
