Man on Meth Offering To Help Woman With Groceries Ended Up in Her House Naked With A Knife

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA — Drew Deshong, 36, was sentenced last month by Lancaster County Judge Dennis Reinaker to a prison term of 6 ½ to 13 years. The sentencing followed Deshong’s April 24 guilty plea to multiple charges including aggravated indecent assault without consent, strangulation, and possession of methamphetamine.

The case stemmed from an incident on October 17, 2022, when Deshong offered to assist a woman with her groceries to her home on the 100 block of E. Park Street. Initially introducing himself as “Carlos Cartagena,” he later revealed an active warrant and his intention to turn himself in.

The situation escalated when Deshong, after entering the victim’s residence, disguised himself with a bandana and sunglasses, brandished a knife, and assaulted the victim, resulting in serious physical injuries and emotional trauma. The victim managed to escape and seek help from a neighbor.

When police arrived, they found Deshong wearing the victim’s robe, and discovered methamphetamine in his abandoned clothing.
