Police Investigating Theft and Fraud at Queensboro Plaza Station

QUEENS, NY — The NYPD is investigating a theft that occurred at the Queensboro Plaza train station on Sunday, May 19, 2024. At approximately 9:00 PM, a 25-year-old female victim reported that while she was sitting on the northbound platform of the #7 train, an unidentified male sitting next to her reached into her laundry basket and stole her wallet. The wallet contained credit cards and jewelry.

Following the theft, the suspect, described as a male with short black hair, about 5’6” tall, weighing 140 lbs., and approximately 25 years old, used the stolen credit cards for several unauthorized transactions at various commercial establishments within the 114th Precinct on Monday, May 20, 2024.

The police are seeking assistance from the public to identify and locate the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the local authorities to help in the ongoing investigation and prevent further fraudulent activities.
