Nugget Run Leads to DUI Arrest at McDonald’s

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA—Stafford County Police have reported two separate DUI incidents that resulted in arrests at local businesses over the weekend. The first incident took place early Saturday morning, May 27, 2024, at the newly opened Wawa on 920 Wonder Road.

At approximately 3:11 AM, Deputy R.A. Peterson responded to a call regarding a potentially intoxicated driver in a Mustang.

Upon arrival, Peterson observed signs of intoxication and confirmed that the driver had consumed beer at a bar on Wicomico Drive. The driver was charged with DUI, with a blood alcohol content measured between .15 and .2, and was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $3,000 secured bond.

Later that same day, at 8:32 PM, Deputy D.S. Jett encountered a driver with a revoked license at the McDonald’s located at 316 Butler Road.

The driver, out on a “nugget run,” displayed several signs of intoxication. Despite his uncertain account of the alcohol content in his drink, he was charged with driving under the influence and driving while revoked. He was detained at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
