Driver Charged with Multiple Offenses After DUI Incident on Richmond Highway

RICHMOND HIGHWAY, VA – A significant traffic incident occurred on the 3600 block of Richmond Highway on May 30 at 7:27 PM, involving a truck that veered off its northbound course, crossing into the southbound lanes and eventually landing in a ditch.

Deputy W.E. Trainor of the local sheriff’s office responded to the scene of the single-vehicle accident. Upon arrival, it was evident that the driver exhibited signs of intoxication. The individual confessed to consuming approximately eight beers prior to driving. Complicating matters further, the driver attempted to mislead authorities by providing a false identity.

The driver now faces several charges, including driving under the influence (DUI), driving without a license, driving without insurance, providing a false identity to law enforcement, and reckless driving. Following these charges, he was detained at Rappahannock Regional Jail with a secured bond set at $3,000.
