Drunk Man in Virginia Thought He Was in Maryland

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA – A recent incident at The Corner Garden Center led to the arrest of a man for public intoxication. The event occurred on May 30 at approximately 6:33 PM at 508 Garrisonville Road.

Deputy X.D. Bates of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched following a call reporting a “fidgety” male who was talking loudly to himself. Upon arrival, Deputy Bates encountered the suspect displaying clear signs of intoxication, with two bottles of alcoholic beverage in his possession. The individual, who mistakenly thought he was in Maryland, was promptly informed that he was actually in Stafford County, Virginia.

Following the encounter, the man was charged with public intoxication and transported to Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he was held until sober. This action is part of ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to maintain public safety and order.
