Claymont Carjacker Arrested and Charged

CLAYMONT, DE – Delaware State Police have arrested Keenan Brown-Meads, a 26-year-old resident of Claymont, in connection with a sexual assault and carjacking incident. The crimes occurred late Wednesday night on Philadelphia Pike in Claymont, Delaware.

Troopers were dispatched to the scene around 11:55 PM on Wednesday following reports of the incident. The assailant, described as an unknown black male, attacked the female victim as she exited her car, assaulted her both sexually and physically, and then fled in her vehicle.

The following day, at about 12:20 AM, officers from the Tinicum Township Police Department in Pennsylvania spotted the stolen car near Philadelphia International Airport. They conducted a traffic stop and arrested Brown-Meads, who was alone in the car.

Through subsequent investigations, detectives from Troop 2 Criminal Investigations identified Brown-Meads as the assailant. He is awaiting extradition to Delaware, where he faces several felony charges, including second-degree rape, first-degree robbery, unlawful sexual contact, attempted strangulation, and third-degree assault. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and subsequently released.
