ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD – The Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Western District and Traffic Safety Section are launching Operation Crash Awareness and Reduction through Education and Enforcement (CARE) for the month of June. This initiative will focus on Maryland Route 198, stretching from Route 32 to Brock Bridge Road.

The enforcement effort comes in response to a surge in motor vehicle traffic and a corresponding increase in traffic accidents along this corridor. The police will intensively enforce laws against speed, aggressive driving, and distracted driving with a variety of department resources.

Residents are encouraged to report any instances of careless or reckless driving by contacting the Anne Arundel County Police Department at 911 for emergencies or 410-222-8610 for non-emergency situations.
