Suspect Charged for Murder of Baltimore Teen Denzel Johnson

BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore Police Department has announced the arrest of 22-year-old Korey Hopson following a fatal shooting incident in the Western District on May 25, 2024. Hopson, a resident of Baltimore, is accused of the murder of 17-year-old Denzel Johnson and the injury of a 15-year-old male.

The incident occurred in the 900 block of North Dukeland Street. After an investigation, officers arrested Hopson on the same day in the 3900 block of Stokes Road. He attempted to escape through a wooded area but was apprehended by police.

Hopson has been transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and faces charges including murder, conspiracy in the first and second degrees, attempted murder in the first and second degrees, and assault.
