Knife Attack in Front on Broadway Leaves Man Injured

NEW YORK, NY — A violent incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, May 29, 2024, in front of 5625 Broadway, where a 58-year-old man was assaulted from behind with a knife. The attack, which took place around 10:00 PM, resulted in lacerations to the victim’s left wrist, arm, and thumb.

Following the attack, the assailant fled the scene heading westbound on West 232 Street. The victim was promptly transported by EMS to New York-Presbyterian Allen Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Authorities are actively searching for the suspect, described as a male with a light complexion, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black facemask, a black and red sweatshirt with a graphic on the front, black jeans, white sneakers, and carrying a multicolored backpack. The investigation is ongoing, and there have been no arrests made in connection with the attack.
