GAITHERSBURG, MD—A tragic incident occurred early Saturday when a collision between a motorcycle and a car resulted in the death of a local man. The Montgomery County Department of Police – Collision Reconstruction Unit is actively investigating the accident that took place at the intersection of University Blvd West and Kerwin Rd.
The victim, identified as 28-year-old Brian Antonio Martinez Gamez from Silver Spring, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was riding a black and green 2019 Kawasaki ZX636 motorcycle eastbound on University Blvd West as he approached Kerwin Road. The collision occurred with a white 2023 Tesla Model 3, which was making a left turn from northbound Kerwin Road onto westbound University Blvd West. Despite attempts to avoid the car, Martinez Gamez ultimately collided with the driver’s side of the Tesla.
The driver of the Tesla remained at the scene following the incident. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
