Young Girl Struck by Philadelphia Police Car

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A police-involved auto-pedestrian incident occurred on Saturday evening in the 12th District, specifically on the 1600 block of South Ithan Street. At 7:27 PM, an officer driving southbound struck a 5-year-old black female.

Following the incident, the child was promptly transported to Children’s Hospital by Medic 19, where she is reported to be in stable condition. There were no reported injuries to the police officer involved in the collision.

The scene has been secured and is currently under the investigation of the Crash Investigation Division to determine the specifics of the incident and to evaluate the circumstances leading up to the collision.

Police did not release any further details at this time.
