Loaded Gun Found in Child’s Lunch Bag at Pittsburgh Pre-K

PITTSBURGH, PA—A serious incident at Pittsburgh Morrow Pre-K in Brighton Heights has raised concerns after a loaded gun was found in a 3-year-old child’s lunch bag. The discovery was made by a staff member on June 5, 2024, while preparing to distribute the lunches.

The Pittsburgh Public Schools Police promptly notified the Pittsburgh Police Special Victims Unit of the situation. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding how the firearm ended up in the child’s lunch bag. There has been no decision yet on whether charges will be filed against the child’s parents or guardians.
