Identities Released in Fatal Police-Involved Car Accident in Franklin Borough

TRENTON, NJ — The Attorney General’s Office has released the identities of the individuals involved in a fatal car crash that occurred last Monday in Franklin Borough, New Jersey. The crash resulted in the death of 19-year-old Deanna D’Arco from Sussex, New Jersey.

At around 10:41 a.m. on May 27, Sgt. William Grissom of the Franklin Borough Police, who was driving a marked police vehicle, collided with a civilian vehicle at the intersection of State Route 23 and Walsh Street. D’Arco, a passenger in the civilian vehicle, suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Morristown Medical Center.

Despite receiving emergency treatment, D’Arco was pronounced dead early Wednesday morning at 12:45 a.m. Both the driver of the civilian vehicle and Sgt. Grissom sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment. The investigation into the crash is still underway, with no additional details currently available.
