Newark Public Safety Director Seeks Public Assistance in Identifying Porch Pirate

NEWARK, NJ — Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is calling on the community to help identify a suspect involved in a recent package theft. The incident took place on June 6, around 3:03 p.m., at a residence in the 40 block of Sanford Place.

Surveillance footage captured a woman approaching the front porch and taking a package. The suspect was wearing braids, a white surgical mask, a green jacket, blue jeans, and black sneakers.

Director Fragé encourages anyone with information about the identity of the suspect to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
