New Jersey Fugitive Arrested in Pennsylvania

WILKES-BARRE, PA — Michael Bentley, a 35-year-old from Lincoln Park, New Jersey, was arrested in Wilkes-Barre following a routine traffic stop that revealed he was wanted in Morris County, New Jersey. The incident occurred on June 10, 2024, at approximately 11:09 AM at the intersection of Hill and Hazle Streets.

During the traffic stop, officers discovered that Bentley, a passenger in the vehicle, had an outstanding warrant for burglary issued by the Morris County Sheriff’s Office. Following the verification of the warrant, Bentley was taken into custody without incident.

Bentley was transported to city headquarters where he was arraigned. Details on his extradition to New Jersey or the specifics of the charges against him have not been released. The case is ongoing as authorities proceed with the legal process.
