Police Investigating 12-Year-Old Girl Who Attacked Classmate on Way Home From School

WILKES-BARRE, PA — An assault involving two young girls has prompted a police investigation in Wilkes-Barre. The incident occurred on June 7 at around 12:22 p.m. on North Meade Street.

Authorities were alerted to the situation after receiving a call about an 11-year-old girl, a resident of Wilkes-Barre, who was reportedly assaulted while walking home from school. The victim’s mother contacted the police upon her daughter’s arrival at home.

The suspect, identified only as a 12-year-old girl attending the same school as the victim, is currently unknown by name to the authorities. Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault.
