STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Arquimides Gomez Mejia, a 41-year-old resident of Woodbridge, Virginia, has been arrested for his third DUI offense in three years, following a traffic incident in Stafford County. The arrest occurred early on the morning of June 9th.

First Sergeant M.R. Flick of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling southbound on Richmond Highway near Acadia Street at approximately 3:14 a.m. when he noticed a white SUV displaying erratic driving behaviors. The vehicle was seen traveling at fluctuating speeds and drifting out of its lane, at one point nearly causing a collision with another vehicle.

Upon initiating a traffic stop, First Sergeant Flick, assisted by Deputy R.A. Peterson, observed signs of intoxication in Mejia, including glassy, bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol. Mejia, confused about his location and believing he was in Dumfries, admitted to consuming six Modelo beers prior to driving. It was also confirmed that Mejia’s driving privileges had been previously revoked due to past DUI convictions in Arlington in 2022 and Fairfax in 2023.

Mejia has been charged with driving under the influence for the third time within five years, driving without a license for the second time, and a traffic lane violation. He is currently being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.
