NEW YORK, NY – A Great Dane named Kevin from West Des Moines, Iowa, has been officially declared the world’s tallest living male dog, measuring a remarkable 3 feet 2 inches in height. The record was verified on March 20.

Kevin, a three-year-old canine, shares his home with the Wolfe family—Tracy, Roger, Alexander, and Ava—and a host of other pets, including dogs, cats, chickens, goats, and horses. His rise to fame comes after the Wolfe family unexpectedly decided to adopt him following the loss of their previous Great Dane.

The name Kevin was inspired by the family’s favorite movie, “Home Alone,” reflecting his playful and mischievous character. Tracy Wolfe notes that Kevin grew unusually fast, primarily in height rather than girth, which led them to believe early on that he could be one of the tallest dogs.

Despite his size, Kevin is described as a gentle giant, albeit one with a few fears, such as a distinct aversion to vacuums. His gentle nature extends to his interactions with other dogs, often crouching to appear less intimidating to smaller companions.

Kevin has a special bond with 12-year-old Alexander, often sharing quiet evenings on what the family has dubbed “Kevin’s couch.” His size is put into perspective with Pearl, the current shortest living dog, who stands just 3.59 inches tall—nearly ten Pearls could stack up to match Kevin’s height.

Kevin’s record-setting size and endearing personality make him a standout pet, and the Wolfe family ensures he’s never left behind, unlike his namesake from their favorite film.
